Lifestyle Services is looking for volunteers to help with programs and events throughout the year. Anyone 16 and over, of any ability or disability, of any gender or race, can volunteer. Positions vary depending on the event. If you are a high school student and community service hours fulfilled, this is a perfect opportunity. Come help out and have fun!

Email Jenny DeLorenzo at jennyd@woodlakeva.org if you are interested in finding out more.

Lifestyle Services will only contact you have shown an interest.

This is how the process of becoming a volunteer works:

  • Advertisements go out for the recruitment of volunteers in the weekly Digest.
  • Only if a resident contacts us, do we make further contact.
  • At the beginning of the calendar year, a list of events Lifestyle Services needs volunteers for is sent out to those who have expressed interest in volunteering. Prior to the event, the Director will email a reminder to all volunteers helping with the event. The email will have details of they will be taking care of at the event.

The perks of volunteering at Woodlake are that you can giving back to the community you live in, while having fun and meeting new neighbors! And best of all, you are invited to attend the Volunteer Dinner and Awards Gala each year for helping out!

In addition, there is an Incentive Plan for Volunteers in return for helping out Woodlake’s Lifestyle Services Department at the 6 Signature Woodlake Events.

If you volunteer for one the 6 Signature Woodlake Events, there is a “Happy Half-Hour” to kick off the events where volunteers can gather, have refreshments and meet each other before the event starts.

At the end of each of the 6 Signature Woodlake Events, Lifestyle Services will meet with all of the volunteers and have a drawing.  All Volunteers will have their name in a raffle.  The volunteer who is randomly picked will win a gift.

Gifts Include:

  • 2-Hour Pontoon Cruise with Captain
  • $100 Gift Cards
  • 4-hour SRC Rental

For those Volunteers that go above and beyond the call of duty at an event, Lifestyle Services will have something special for you.

All Volunteers will be invited to Woodlake’s Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner held in the Spring of each year.
