This year’s Dance is The Tango. The Tango is a passionate partnered dance and music genre that originated in the late 19th century in the working-class neighborhoods of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Montevideo, Uruguay. It is characterized by a close embrace, dramatic, improvised movements, and a melancholic 2/4 rhythm often featuring the bandoneón.
